ABSTRACT
Se realizó un estudio prospectivo y longitudinal de 42 adultos, de ambos sexos, con cardiopatía isquémica, tratados con cirugía correctora sin circulación extracorpórea en el Centro Territorial de Cirugía Cardiovascular de Santiago de Cuba, con vistas a medir la masa libre de grasa mediante el método de bioimpedancia eléctrica, durante el primer cuatrimestre del 2014. Los resultados mostraron que el promedio de masa libre de grasa en el periodo posoperatorio fue significativamente mayor (p<0,05) que el de la medición en el periodo preoperatorio. Se concluyó que este aumento fue interpretado como una sobrestimación presumiblemente causada por factores orgánicos que afectaron la técnica de medición.
A prospective and longitudinal study of 42 adults, of both sexes, with ischemic heart disease, treated with corrective surgery without heart-lung machine was carried out in the Territorial Center of Cardiovascular Surgery in Santiago de Cuba, aimed at measuring the fat free mass by means of the method of electric bioimpedancy, during the first quarter of 2014. The results showed that the fat free mass average of the postoperative period was significantly higher (p<0,05) than that of the measuring in the preoperative period. It was concluded that this increase was interpreted presumably as an overestimation caused by organic factors that affected the measuring technique.
